About us

UBS was one of the first foreign banks in the Russian market, officially opening its representative office in Moscow in 1996 (Swiss Bank Corporation (Switzerland) Representative Office). The following year UBS formed an investment banking joint venture with the local Brunswick Capital Group (CJSC "Brunswick UBS Warburg").

Unlike many foreign investors, UBS stayed true to Russia during the 1998 financial crisis. Its commitment deepened in December 2004 when UBS bought out Brunswick's share in the joint venture to form CJSC "UBS Securities", a wholly-owned subsidiary of UBS.

OOO UBS Bank, a Russian banking subsidiary of UBS AG, was incorporated in March 2006. In June 2006 OOO UBS Bank received Central Bank of Russia license to carry out banking operations. In August 2010 OOO UBS Bank received Central Bank of Russia license to take deposits from individuals in rubles and in foreign currency.

The sole shareholder of OOO UBS Bank is UBS AG, company registered in accordance with the Swiss law.
